Industrial Application Software (IAS), the global technology company that carries out important projects both in Turkey and the global market under its brand canias4.0 Technologies, completed the year 2022 successfully. Having announced that they would use the canias4.0 technology in model factories in various cities across Turkey recently, the company introduced version 903 of its enterprise resource planning solution caniasERP in the last quarter. We interviewed IAS Chairman Yaşar Hakan Karabiber about future technologies, sustainability, and IAS's 2023 goals.
The lights-out factories, a hot topic of the recent period, aim to carry out production operations using robotic systems only. This system is built on the fiction of a future with fixed production outputs, where there is no need for human intervention and defective production rates and labor costs are reduced. This would ensure sustainable quality while enabling energy consumption and cost savings. For a long time now, Industrial Application Software (IAS) has been working for a sustainable world, adopting the vision of producing technologies for not only today but also the future. Talking about the work carried out by his company in this regard, IAS Chairman Karabiber said, “Sustainability has an impact on many levels. An example of this is the transformation of corporate sustainability into role-based mechanisms that make automated decisions, independently of people, through Business Processes management. We optimize the supply chain with MRP. As a result, we use resources correctly and prevent them from becoming idle. We also prevent unnecessary new resource production. We optimize machine and human workforce through capacity planning. For one of our customers, we save tons of water by sorting their dyeing boilers by color tones only. We enabled another customer to increase their existing production capacity by up to 60 percent without any additional investments!”
Highlighting that “One of the most important dimensions of sustainability is human resources,” Karabiber explains: “We implement competence-based management starting from our company. First of all, it is necessary to determine the correct competencies for the positions, select the appropriate people for recruitment management, and determine the appropriate career plan. As a technology company, we run countless projects and a system is essential for us to manage resources efficiently. We manage our project resources in synchronization with human resources competencies and can instantly monitor the points where we have a shortage or surplus of resources. As a result of all these, we support the solutions for the impact of a sustainable environment with deeper and greater effects. Efficient capacity utilization ensures the effective use of resources such as electricity, water, and natural gas. We enable tons of paper savings through document management and e-Processes. We can perform total carbon emission calculations for products and minimize carbon emissions by way of capacity planning.”
When we asked Karabiber, the Chairman of IAS, what advantages the users of canias4.0 Technologies have gained, he replied: “We are making new investments in our technology every day. We offer integrated solutions to our customers that can meet all their needs. We have many customers of all scales, from small-scale SMEs to group companies. With our global experience of more than 30 years, we have designed a quickly implementable, sustainable modular structure to meet the needs of companies as they grow. The solutions we offer under the canias4.0 Technologies brand aim to standardize company systems. This way, companies make their business processes much faster, more sustainable, and monitorable. Information can be easily obtained through the system instead of by telephone and e-mail to enable efficient information exchange within the company, maximizing internal coordination. On the other hand, adapting to competitive market conditions is much harder today. We designed our system so that our users can maximize their productivity in every respect. For example, thanks to our integrated structure, users can instantly see the standard cost and profitability ratio while bidding. It can effectively manage the process with options such as automatic approval if the profitability rate is above 30 percent or approval up to the general manager if it is below 20 percent.”
“We also build quick automation structures without integration problems with our integrated IoT solutions. We feed data from production to the system without user errors and constantly feed managers with instant information through Production Intelligence. We provide full monitorability for all processes, from the supply chain to shipment. If there is a problem with the product, we perform root cause analyses with quality processes and define preventive activities to prevent such future problems. With smart warehouse management, we leave behind the standard warehouse concept and offer business-based optimized solutions to the personnel working in the warehouse. Those customers who need to make the shipment one or two hours after receiving orders can easily overcome complex processes by utilizing the solutions we offer.”
