IAS has signed an institutional membership cooperation protocol with the PMI Turkey Chapter, with over 800 members and volunteers, which actively operates in project management studies and methodologies, and whose mission is to raise awareness of the importance of project management and to develop and expand it as a profession. The two institutions held their kick-off meeting online to discuss the goals they hope to accomplish. It has been planed to start developing projects that will emphasize the importance of project management for both individuals and institutions.
IAS Business Academy General Manager Ms. Çiğdem Dönmez emphasized the importance of project management, especially in ERP projects. She added, “Our cooperation with PMI-TR is important to us. We have always worked to raise the awareness of project management among all our stakeholders. Our experience has been when the project management is done properly, the success rate of the actual project increases accordingly. PMI-TR 2020 President Mr. Eren Akdur shared his thoughts and plans on this new collaboration with IAS. “At the PMI Turkey Chapter, we give great importance to institutional membership efforts. In terms of increasing awareness of the value of project management, we would like to thank IAS Holding for their support. Our goal is to promote the global PMI approach among individuals and institutions throughout Turkey."
Ms. Dönmez also said of the cooperation, “Our team at IBA plans to organize joint activities with PMI-TR in establishing training programs, online webinar courses and seminars. One of our goals is to provide PDU with IBA trainings to experienced project managers who have PMP certificates in the field of project management and to have them participate in the development training programs. In addition, we will collaborate on training topics and contribute as instructors, panelists and speakers in the activities and events organized by PMI-TR. We can also support PMI-TR to manage their business processes with our ERP solution, caniasERP.”
IAS General Manager Mr. Cüneyt Ömer Günaydın stated: “We oversee our project management methodologies, project work, and technical consulting standardization for all of our operations worldwide from here in Turkey. We learn and improve our knowledge from every project we work on. Working in technology and software requires that you have a passion for learning, to keep pace with all the innovation. The cooperation we have with PMI-TR today will be an opportunity to contribute not only in our country but also in all our projects globally.”
Summarizing PMI-TR work and the PM-TR Membership and Volunteers, Vice President Volkan Abur said: "Our goal over the last 10 years has been to increase awareness in Turkey about the value of project management. With our 800 members and more than 100 volunteers, we are engaged in a series of activities focused on project management awareness at institutions and universities, including primary, secondary, and high school education institutions. It is particularly important for us to establish close-contacts with institutions that are members of PMI-TR who care about this issue. We are very pleased to have taken one of the most important steps of 2020 with IAS Holding. We are working with our corporate members to increase the project management competencies of all our members and to raise awareness about this issue across the country. We expect to achieve these goals working together with IAS in the coming period."
Emphasizing the importance of information technologies, PMI-TR Special Projects and Operations Vice President Hasan Yavuz added, “The value of information technologies has become even more critical during this pandemic process and the future. We now are all communicating with each other through machines. In this context, the importance of such tools and ERP systems have been re-emerged again. I think the support of an experienced software company in the field of information technology such as IAS will take us one step further."
