In case of failed quality assurance checks, materials are transferred to rejected inventory for return processing. In this manner the business processes for accepting suitable materials for use in production or distribution, and rejecting non-conforming materials for return to suppliers, are placed under process management. Check tables facilitate centralized management of QA activities including inspection criteria and instructions, failure catalogs, inspection scope and texts. All materials related QA data is stored in the article master and quality control plans are administered in the integrated Document Management System. Accordingly, decisions involving analysis of materials during procurement, as well as details of quality inspections for finished products, can all be accomplished ahead of the business processes that are next in line.

QA activities start with materials acceptance, which in turn provides various options for system analysis activities. Alternatievely, the acquisition of QA data is also possible during a work process before the receipt of the feedback. For batch production activities, QA analysis is performed at periodic intervals. If a calibration is deemed necessary, calibration dates with the associated capacity and the necessary services are planned. The system organizes and administers purchasing data for external calibration, and production data for internal calibration.

The CANIAS ERP Maintenance Management module can be used to provide the process data required for inspection results and product quality data, such as operational performance and temperature data. All relevant data for equipment is acquired automatically at runtime with an indication of time. In the CANIAS ERP Service Module, the quality assurance is implemented using an error management tool that initiates the requisite quality assurance procedures.
