Schedule and execute repairs and maintenance according to plans
Efficient maintenance planning for reduced downtime and enhanced productivity
Organizations deploying production planning systems for
planning and management of business processes, also
have a need for capacity planning. Usually capacity
planning systems provide planning to manage limited
resources such as durations involved in production of a
product as well as the actual and present capacity
resources that are required. At the same time, a
frequently overlooked issue is the capacity utilization
during equipment outage or repair. The CANIAS ERP
Maintenance Module allows organizations to perform
maintenance and repair planning for their machinery and
equipment, either in case of equipment outages or as
scheduled maintenance planning. Accordingly, unscheduled
and unplanned outages of equipment are minimized, and
equipment capacities are better utilized during planned
maintenance activities thereby reducing equipment
down-time.
Maintenance without unexpected delays
Maintenance planning ensures that prescheduled
maintenance activities are carried out, in an automated
manner, at designated time intervals and using well
defined methods (e.g. based on length of production runs,
or the amount of production output), before occurrence of
any equipment malfunctions or break-downs. For
equipment requiring service, multiple priority levels, as
well as descriptions of the maintenance activities to be
performed, can be defined. Equipment to be serviced, its
related maintenance process, methods to be employed and the consequent plant capacity reduction can be scheduled
in advance and configured accordingly. Internal
maintenance plans created as part of the planning for
routine maintenance are subject to final authorization by
the responsible department. These are planned and
executed using the CANIAS ERP Maintenance Management
module, similar to regular planning. Scheduling for
maintenance activities is provided, subject to requirements
planning before the execution of the maintenance orders.
In the event of any machine breakdown, the system
automatically produces a form that can be used as the
basis for further repair requests. An urgent repair work
order in case of critical breakdowns or a maintenance work
order in case of non-critical malfunctions, can then be
generated. Orders for repairs may also be created after
any type of warning generated by an equipment, and these
orders are managed in a manner similar to maintenance
orders.
Third-party maintenance services are handled by CANIAS
ERP Maintenance module as purchase order requisitions.
Using functionality provided by the CANIAS Purchase
Management module, these external maintenance activities
are organized for implementation.
Reliable maintenance planning on a daily basis
Daily inspections for equipment are defined with short
descriptions and reviewed using lists. Metrics obtained
through inspections are input back into the system, and
when required, reports can be generated on the results.
Metrics can be both measurable and non-measurable
values. For breakdowns detected during inspections, a form
is generated to report the breakdown.
